Kiwi Sandwich - Marmite vs Vegemite

So today we created our yummy Kiwi sandwich - Marmite or Vegemite with our chosen chip. Before we made them we create a sandwich holder where children could design their own handles. 

 

Marmite vs Vegemite

This terms topic is a Kiwiana one and I have chosen to take a food approach to it (much to all the children's delight). 

So this week we have taken on the big debate Marmite or Vegemite.... and we are going to make Marmite or Vegemite chip sandwiches but we had to test which we liked the most first. We did this on Monday. Then today we tested what chip tasted the best with the Marmite or Vegemite. Here are some pictures of today's taste test.

We tried 4 different types of chips - Ready Salted, Salt and Vinegar, Twisties and Doritos.

Here we are taste testing!  

 We found that most children in Room 5 liked Doritos with their Marmite or Vegemite, then it was Twisties, third was Ready Salted and no one liked Salt and Vinegar chips.

Now all the children are able to create their own best sandwich on Thursday.

PE

This term we will have athletics day so we have started practicing for this. We have looked at running races and shot put. We also worked on our balance just for a bit of fun :)  

Mission Day

We had such a fantastic day on Friday! Mission day is always something that the children look forward to.
